Mission & Vision

A sport of the mind, played in good company.

Asociația Clubul de Bridge Alcala exists to promote mental sports, and contract bridge in particular, as a means of developing logical thinking, memory and patience. We believe a card table is one of the best places to learn how to listen, plan and cooperate.

Our vision is a city where retired engineers sit beside university students and schoolchildren, where seniors stay mentally active and socially connected, and where young people discover that careful reasoning can be as exciting as any screen.

What we do

Four pillars of club life

Club practice sessions

Duplicate bridge every week, with scored boards, friendly directors and room for both competitive and social players.

Regional tournaments

Open pairs and teams events in Cluj-Napoca, welcoming players from across Transylvania and the rest of Romania.

Beginner academies

Structured courses for absolute beginners, youth groups and returning players, from first bids to defensive signalling.

Community outreach

Demonstrations in parks, schools and senior centres that bring the game, and the habit of thinking, to new audiences.
